F1 points, new rule?

Would any of you ppl on here agree with this rule if it was enforced? it's something i've made up, but lets see how many people wud support it.

I think that 1 world championship point should be awarded to the person with the fastest lap in the race. anyone agree?

Think about it, if Hamilton last year had done the fastest lap, he would have drawn with Kimi although kimi would have won on race wins it makes it that little bit close, and don't you hate it when at the end everyone has just about settled and are driving for what they have, if they were competing for fastest laps at the end when they have a nearly empty tank it would be a dramatic end to the race.

  1. Not a good idea to many outside infulences such as slow moving traffic or picking a clear area to start with you get the idea.

  2. I do not agree with points for anything other than race result.

The purpose of a race is to finish it as quickly as possible.

Being fast over one lap in both qualifying and race is a means to an end.

It's not what they're there to do.

So, no, I think it's OK as is.

And let's not forget that we've seen teams roll out cars that were fast but fragile in the past.

You have to give some speed away for the sake of reliability, fast but fragile should not be rewarded either.

  3. Oh, this one's been discussed many times and I think the one point should be awarded. it would give the backmarkers some motivation to go faster as well. Plus, giving an additional point can actually heat things up in the race for the WC.

  4. Yes, I agree and 1 for pole position, yes you may get a driver from the back aiming for it but surely that's a good thing, if a driver has to stop for a new wing and falls to the back of the field, there is a reason to keep pushing.
