FA Cup: Half Time Report - Fulham 2-0 vs. Peterborough United
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international managed his first hat trick on English platform. Entering into the competition, manager Mark Hughes had one mission and that was to win it; therefore,
he had brought all guns in an aggressive stance to win their match against Peterborough United at Craven Cottage.
Eventually, they did that and in the process, they hammered Peterborough 6 goals while conceding just 2. Now, that they have entered the 4th stage of FA Cup they will be facing more competitive clubs, thereby pushing
Hughes to carve his impression on the club’s performance.
Fulham have managed to enter the quarterfinals of the tournament for the past 2 years. Hence, one can expect Fulham to go to the end of Npower League One, once again.
Should their performance continue in a similar fashion, they might even progress to the final stages of the tournament. During the match, Kamara increased the goal difference with the help of Dickson Etuhu, Zoltan Gera and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993
Greening, all netting the ball.
On the other hand, Peterborough’s players found goals via penalties and they were scored by Tomlin and Grant McCann. Had it not been for the spot kicks, Peterborough’s defeat would have been much more embarrassing.
Both teams had their chances of scoring, but Peterborough started with a shocker as they woke David Stockdale into making a brilliant stop. Arron Davies was the man responsible as his team took advantage of a misplaced Fulham defence.
The ball was brought in from the corner, which confounded the goalkeeper, as Craig Mackail-Smith simply looked on, unable to take advantage of the situation.
Fulham started their onslaught with a flunk too. Striker Simon Davies missed his chance to open the score sheet despite him being in-form. Damien Duff was assisting well at the wings as he flew in smart crosses. Kamara too was
on fire from the beginning; however, he missed his early chances to score.
Ironically, the first goal of the match came in the 32nd minute as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Baird provided a cross from the far post. Kamara was present in the perfect position to head the ball from close range, drawing first blood.
Duff was ominous on the wings again as he passed the ball to Etuhu. The striker rocketed the ball towards the goal and after a deflection it was netted, making the score 2 goals to nil as both teams went into the half time break.
