FA Cup goal Summary: Everton vs Tamworth
Everton played host to Tamworth in the FA Cup, as the Premier League side looked to make short work of their opponents.
Going into the game, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 had just about everyone’s vote to come out of the game with a win and it seemed almost impossible for Tamworth to take anything from the game.
However, given the fact that Everton were looking to field a rather depleted side, it seemed like their opponents might be able to surprise everyone, should they manage to get everything right in the game.
The match kicked off with a bang for Everton, as they looked to attack their opponents from the very first minute of the game.
The Toffees went on to launch an early attack and ended up scoring the opening goal of the game in just the 5th minute of the match.
Donovan, the man of loan from LA Galaxy, went on to bend in a tantalizing corner, which fell straight to the head of Heitinga. The Dutch international went on to meet the ball with ease and then sent it over the line and into the back of the net.
Following the goal, there was a massive dry spell, as neither side could manage to send any shot past the keeper and into the goal.
However, in the last ten minutes of the game, Everton were awarded a penalty, as Drenthe was taken out in the box.
Baines stepped up to take the resulting spot kick and sent it into the back of the net in the 81st minute, after sending the keeper the wrong way.
As a result of that goal from Baines, Everton managed to cruise past their opponents, as they saw off the remainder of the game with ease.
In the end the homeside progressed with a comfortable two goals to nil win.
The line ups for the game were as follows:
Everton: Howard, Coleman, Heitinga, Distin, Neville, Donovan, Fellaini, Bilyaletdinov, Gueye, McFadden, Anichebe
Subs: Hahnemann, Baines, Drenthe, Stracqualursi, Vellios, Duffy, McAleny
Tamworth: Collister, Tait, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francis-c13946, Kanyuka, Habergham, McKoy, Courtney, Barrow, Thomas, Patterson, Christie
Subs: Hedge, Oji, St Aimie, McDonald, Shariff, Taylor, Wallen
