The English Football Association has gone on to lash out against the racist abuse that is being directed against Ashley Cole and Ashley Young, following the duo missing their penalties in the shootout against Italy, which saw the Three Lions crash
out of the tournament.
Ashley Young first went on to hit his penalty against the wood work, which saw the shootout go level in the game and soon after, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833. This gave the Italians plenty of room to win the match
and with Diamanti making no mistake with his effort, the Three Lions crashed out of the contest, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 heading to the semi finals.
Following the game, both Cole and Young were subject to a lot of racial abuse, with fans constantly getting on their backs for their display at such a crucial point.
The FA is strongly against the way the fans have reacted and are now set to launch an investigation into the matter, as they look to find all the parties responsible for all the abuse that they are directing towards the players.
A statement which was released by the FA is quoted to have said: "We are concerned at the reports regarding allegations of abuse aimed at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 players Ashley Cole and Ashley Young on Twitter.”

"They have just given everything for the national team at Euro 2012 and it is appalling and unacceptable that messages of an abusive type are being posted.”

"We support any police investigation in identifying who is behind this."
The FA is now set to look into the matter, simply because of the fact that the taunts directed towards the players were racist.
Had these comments not been racist and just criticized the players for how they performed in the game, the FA wouldn’t have looked into the matter with such great concern.
However, with the FA now looking to eradicate racism from English football and hoping for the fans to indulge in such behaviour, they are willing to get to the bottom of this incident. They feel that letting any single incident would create room for more
to follow and for this very reason, we could soon see a number of Twitter users get called in for questioning, in the part that they played in racially abusing the duo.
