When is the deadline for filing FAFSA for the 2008-2009 school year? Did it already pass? I know I'm kind of late.. since people started filing theirs around January 1st. Should I not even bother completing one? Or.. are grants, etc. still given out at this time of year? I'm going to be a freshman in college come fall.. and my parents' combined income exceeds $100,000.. will I still get money from this FAFSA?

  1. The federal deadline is not until June 30, 2009.  However, your school has their own priority deadline as to when you need to complete the FAFSA along with paperwork for their office.  This deadline just means, unless it is in their office, complete for them to verify then they cannot guarantee you will have your money before or on school.  You will probably have to make payment arrangements on your tuition, fees & books unless there is some type of deferment your financial aid office offers which can defer your tuition & fees, but you will still be responsible for your books.

  2. The FAFSA deadline has passed.  You might try the website, www.fafsa.gov, to see what your options are.  Good luck.

  3. If you want 2 b considered 4 financial aid at most colleges you must do FAFSA. It's not 2 late.

  4. well, you've sure come to the right place.  since you seem to be under the gun (if you will) to meet a deadline, wouldn't it be more effective to contact the financial aid office?

  5. You should look on the FAFSA website. I think the deadline is around July, but the deadline for schools differs depending on the school...so you should visit your school's financial office to get the deadlines.

  6. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the deadline has already passed. At my school, U of M, the  deadline for turning it in was May 30. I really think it is all according to your school's deadline, so check that out as well as  FAFSA's website. It is mid-summer though, so you may be too late for your school but CHECK! And even high income earners can get some aid...so just check your school's financial aid website. Good luck!
