FAFSA and college grant money?

Hi,

Are two schools that are almost identically priced supposed to give the same amount of money in FAFSA grant money? If one school gives less but is more expensive, it is possible that they would honor the money from the other school?

Also, is money granted one year almost guaranteed the next year? I was tols it is unless there is a dramatic change in income, but I am not sure what a "dramatic change" is considered.

I've never qualified for Fafsa money, but it's first come first served, and it can change.
