My parents made $22,391.00 last year. I am a dependent. I claimed $0.00. I don't have a job. I am a full-time student. How much money do you think I could get from the pell grant?

***PELL GRANT MONEY ONLY!***

  1. Many things are considered when determining eligibility, such as income and assets, household size and number in college. I recommend filling out the FAFSA at: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. This is the best way to find out your eligibility.

  2. The easiest way to find out if you qualify for a Pell is to fill out the fafsa application.  There are other things that are taken into account besides income.  After you fill it out, it will give you an EFC number.  the lower this number is the more likely you will get a Pell grant.

If your EFC is zero and all the info on the fafsa is correct you will likely get the full Pell if you meet about a MILLION other requirements.  Be sure you put the info in correctly.  You said you don't have a job now, but did you earn any  money in 2007?

The maximum Pell someone can get is $4,731 a year.  The mimimum is zero.... most don't get any.

EDIT: Gee, it's nice to see that Chip N Dale agrees with me... maybe i give you the same answer because it's the correct one.  Are you going to bawl her out too?

    Good luck.

  3. The only way to find out how much Pell Grant you are eligible to receive is to complete the FAFSA and have the results sent to your college.  While income is a main variable used in determining your eligibility, is not the only variable used.  Information such as state of residency, number of family members, assets, etc. all play a part in determining the amount of Pell you can receive.  I suggest you complete the application on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and have the results sent to your college.  Then wait to hear from the aid office as to the types and amount of aid you are eligible to receive.

  4. I would think that you would qualify for the full thing, which I have heard is close to $5,000/yr or a semester, I'm not sure which.

    Good luck!
