  1. If you did it electronically and signed with a pin you should have received your SAR (Student Aid Report) already.  If you included your results to be given to you by email, you need to check your email address and possibly your SPAM folder.  On your SAR will be a summary of everything on your FAFSA and a few paragraphs at the end that say "Based on the information you gave us and if all the information is correct you are (or are not) eligible for a federal Pell grant but you may be eligible for other student aid like student loans".

    This is the first step.

Then you will need to apply for admissions to your school, only then will you get a financial aid "AWARD LETTER" from your school.  This letter is an exact breakdown of the kinds and amounts of financial aid your school is offering you.

This book has a flow chart of the entire process.  Maybe that will help.

  2. Well the answer is that it takes forever. It's supposed to come in the mail. The reason it takes so long is because fafsa sends all your information to the schools and then the schools decide how much financial aid to give you. So you should be getting something in the mail from the school you're going to, if you put that school down on the fasfsa form. If you didn't include that school in the fafsa form then you better go add it in quick. I did all of my fafsa stuff back in January and from one college i got my financial aid packet like two months ago and from another i still didn't get it. So don't worry all the schools are different.
