FAFSA questions...?

Alright stupidly didn't pay attention to the full instruction when filling out the dependency portion of the FAFSA and instead of filing as an independent (I am pregnant and will be providing for my child fully) I filed as a dependent which made me ineligible for the Pell Grant.....WELL I recently made corrections to my FAFSA and put that I am taking care of my child fully and that I have a child in my home and so my EFC went down to 0....my question is when my application says that it's "PROCESSED" does that mean FAFSA has seen it and it has been sent to my school to decide if I get the Pell Grant? Also, I've heard that if you do get Financial Aid that the college sends you money every so often for school supplies...Now do they send money or have an account for you? Also, how often do they send the money? Is it each semester for new supplies?

  1. The FAFSA for 2008/2009 covers the SUMMER SESSION 2008, the FALL of 2008, and the SPRING of 2009.  Starting July 1, 2008.  Ending June 30, 2009 (there aren't 31 days in June, just 30).  SUMMER SESSION 09 - When does that start?  BEFORE or AFTER JUNE 30?  If it's before, you are covered on the one 08/09 app (ends 6/30/09) If the SUMMER SESSION STARTS AFTER 6/30/09 then you will need to fill out the 09/2010 FAFSA application.

  2. Yes they will see it, definatley and the school will send you extra money home every semester. For me since we have quarterly system I get it every quarter. They just mail it to me.
