Question:

FAFSA wasn't enough and I need more financial aid...?

I filled out my FAFSA and I got a small grant from it but it is nowhere near enough. I need some quick and easy grants/scholarships, preferrably that are pretty much fail proof since I start college in 2 months. Any help?

  1. You will have to take out a student loan.

  2. There's no such thing as quick and easy grants and scholarships that are failproof.  You're going to need to get Stafford Loans.

Depending on your EFC you can get either subsidized or unsubsidized loans.   Subsidizied loans are for people with a lower EFC and the US Dept. of Education picks up the tab for your interest.  Unsubsidized loans are for people who have families more in a position to help them out (whether or not they're willing is irrelevant in the eyes of the government) and you are responsible for the interest.

You really need to get cracking on this though, you are just about out of time and you should really have your loan applications in by the end of the week at the latest if you want to actually guarantee going to college.
