i had my driving test today, and OMG it was the best drivie ive ever had!!! i didnt mess up at all!!!! (well a bit, but nothing too concerning) i was well unhappy, cos an hour before my test i had a lesson and i messed up on all my manouvers. lol

but on my test they were SPOT on...and i did it reallllllly well.

the driving examiner was talking to me and we had several conversations. which is weired cos like they normally dont talk.

anyhow as i was ON MY WAY BACK TO THE TEST CENTRE i pulled out on a round about and a car pulled out in front of me and i handled the situation well but i should have waited till the car passed before i moved out.

and when there was a debrief at the end, he sed i was such a good drvier and that i am ready to drive and do the test, he gave me compliments and all. but he sed im really sorry but you had that one fault. i drove well, and i have just booked my test for 29 august. i hope i pass.

im so gutted. any advice? tips? hw lng til u passed?

  1. Those driving test intructors are SO anal. I am a good driver, and well aware of all the laws, but I *almost* failed my first driving exam. The instructor claimed I didn't check my mirrors, but I actually made a point to check them A LOT. You need to just be extremely obvious with what you're doing. Move your head each time you look in the mirrors. I would even suggest saying "checking rear view mirror," "checking right side view mirror" and ect...Be very obvious about everything. It's like good driving exaggerated. Be super super anal about everything. That's the way they like it. =) lol.

  2. A quitter never wins and a winner never quits. Don't give up, use this lesson to your advantage and learn from it. You can do it just believe in yourself and keep the faith. The next time you go for your test you will pass.

  3. The test is such a ways off, you'll be fine. You have that experience and you will learn from it. That is what makes a good driver, being aware. Remember to be observant of your surroundings. Sounds like you have the basics to me. Stay up!

  4. Don't get discouraged. Even though you are confident that you did well, the instructor must have thought you weren't quite ready and you really don't want to be on the road driving until you are completely ready. Just practice and try, try again. Its nothing to feel ashamed about. You will do it.

  5. Just keep calm, you know you're a good driver, learn by your mistake & next test you'll clinch/pass with flying colours.

    Good Luck hunni. X :-)

  6. Don't give up , I failed mine 5 times and passed when i was 19, it only took me 10 months because i never gave up.

    xx

  7. typical woman

  8. its sad when u fail because of some other drivers silly mistake :-( but that one fault was a major and could of caused a big accident which is why u got failed !!! I think if u drove so well you should deffo pass next time round ! x

  9. Don't give up! You can never guess what is happening on the road. As long as you don't cause a hazard then you're ok. My friend failed three times and passed her 4th after about 90 lessons! I passed my test first time. Each day is different, there are loads of cars maybe on one day, then it's quiet the next. I messed up all of my maneouvers on my hours lesson before the test, that's usually a good sign. Keep chatting to the examiner as they tend to help you relax. Be vigilant and drive as well as you did this time! Good luck for your next test and I hope you pass x

  10. U need to be patient, i passed  on my third time. Not every one is lucky to pass the first time around. Good luck and dont wait long before u book another test.

  11. just practice in between the time. just make sure you don't concentrate on mucking up, or else that's all you'll do. just think positively and imagine yourself driving perfectly. GOOD LUCK!

  12. Completely agree with Nikki above.

Keep at it, you'll get there, and you are defo not a failure.

Good Luck for the next test.

  13. most people fail on their first try

  14. I hope that I still have a copy of my 1st driving test.  I had points taken away for using my mirrors too much.  How crazy is that?  I passed but come on.  Maybe a lot of points were taken for pulling out in front of the car.

  15. You are not a failure, not ever one passes first time.  I took 3 driving tests until I passed.  Any way you can always look at this test as a practise run, ready for the real thing.  Good luck next time.

  16. Two observations....

    1.  you'll do fine on the next test, but keep practicing in the mean time...  its a skill that can only become more comfortable as you practice.

    2.  while I know it is a "rite of passage" to get your driver's license and for that reason alone, it is worth doing, but also remember how expensive gas prices are.  If you don't pass (which is unlikely to happen), you are still doing good by taking mass transit, etc.

    Peace

  17. There are a few easy things that will help you before your test (i know from past experiance n failing twice n Passed third time)

if you fail dont think its the end of the world

Dont tell anyone when your test is (its sounds stupid but it does help)

dont make plans to go out if you pass

Never do manouvers on your practice lesson b4 just go for a casual drive to make yourself comfortable because if u mess up on ur manouvers before your have that thought in your head

if you examiner said that then you shud b fine next time round

    good luck

  18. Argh! Don't You Just Hate This.

Something Similar Happened To Me On My First Test.

I Got A Fault Because I Hit The Curb.

But I Did My Test Second Time Around And I Passed.

    You Will Pass Next Time.

You Won't Make Same Mistake Twice.
