at the moment its only speculation but Kieren Fallon has visited the yard of Willie McKay were coincidently there is a training vacancy. The point of my question is whilst alot of people on here have said they wouldnt back another horse that fallon rides again.

So would you back a horse that fallon has trained ?

should a drugs ban also restrict a training licence ?

  1. A very interesting question.  Of course these reports have been denied by both Fallon and McKay who say he was only stopping by for a chat and a cup of tea, but who knows.

I do not think his recent ban for his positive test in France should have any effect on him getting a trainers license - after all I know of many a current trainer who has a drink problem!

Whether people would be inclined to send him horses I could not say, but he is a talented horseman.  However, many good jockeys try their hand at training only to find it does not suit them (John Francome is a classic example).

I must say that the comment above about drug misuse is highly hypocritical when you consider that the USA is the only major racing country in the world where horses are permitted to run on drugs!!!

  2. Des honestly I don't think that Kieron Fallon should if hes giving the horses steroids drugs etc.  I mean yes he won the Breeder's Cup filly and mare turf on Ouija Board back in 04 but steroids were not meant for animals! It's just cruel! Unless he changes i would not back a horse that hes trained (though it's not the animal's fault).  Yes I think that the use of steroids should restrict a training license!

  3. Yeah why not.

  4. If he can't comport himself well as a jockey and he's manipulating the horses to win or lose, why should we give him a whole stable of horses?  If he's already proven that he can't follow rules about what you're allowed to give horses, then he shouldn't be able to work in the industry with any horses... and it's his own fault.  yes a drugs ban should restrict a training license.  It's a shame for it to happen to a talented rider, but it's his own actions that caused it.

  5. good question Des. i am one of those that said they wouldn't back another horse Fallon rides. and i wouldn't back a horse Fallon trained either and i will tell you why . he allegedly stopped horses from winning when he was a jockey although this may never be proven i think we all know he had some part to play in it . so whats to stop him stopping horses from winning as a trainer it would be easier .it would always be in the back of my mind that he might be sending a non trier out .and yes the ban should restrict him from anything to do with horse racing altogether

  6. That's the lifeblood of this mans livelihood, so don't see why not.....after all he's not exactly short of a few bob is he dude?.....

  7. hed be a great trainer, his knowledge of horses is incredible and also of the sport.

id like him to become a trainer.
