If an avon brochure came through your door would you class that as door to door selling and unwanted or would you actually read it.

My reason for asking is that i am an avon rep and 2 of my regulars have these signs on there doors so I was just wondering how you would class avon?

  1. nobody ever reads those notices anyway!

i mean - my whole is double glazed and they still knock the door asking if i want it! i mean! duh!

  2. I state that I do not want catalogues through my door - but if you have sold to these people before I don't see why they wouldn't expect you to carry on doing so.

Why not slip a note inside your next catalogue asking if they want you to stop calling?

  3. In my area a lot of people have signs saying no junk mail, leaflets, brochures, adverts.

I would class your avon magazine more as junk mail but when you show up to collect it, then you become a sales rep.

If I were you I wouldn't put the magazine in their letterbox as they might be spiteful and throw it in the bin.

    Bye now

  4. If they have bought in the past, then I would put a brochure in the slot. If not, they probably won't buy anyway.

Technically it is soliciting, that's why I wouldn't do it.

  5. The reason I have a sign is because I don't want someone trying to sell me something I didn't want anyway. If I want it, I'll go out, find and buy it.

Your regulars obviously want your products.

  6. best thing to do is ask them if they want you to continue to call on them

  7. I don't mind Avon people, it's the religious fanatics that drive me crazy!

  8. I would be fine because I can just put it back on the doorstep to be collected if I'm not interested.

  9. The sign means exactly what it says, and probably covers the religious door-to-door folks too.  If your regulars have these signs, they have obviously purchased from you in the past.  I would simply call before going to their homes.

If an avon brochure came through my door, it would go right into the trash, completely unread.  Just more junk mail.

  10. No means no. If I say I don't want anyone selling stuff to me. I do not want someone selling stuff to me. If I want it I will go get it. Until that time do not sell me anything. Do you understand.

  11. I'm an Avon rep too, one of my neighbours has a sign on her door, so I knocked first and asked her if she would like to look at the book, no pressure to buy anything.  She's one of my best customers now!!
