  1. Ok, I live in Michigan, and when I into the community college I had to sign up for it ASAP! Do NOT pick any classes until you do. Or you end up like a friend of mine, who could not get all the info, and had to pay a fee for ALL the classes he enrolled in!

  2. How could you do it before? You have to be accepted to a college so they know you can use it.

And why would you send it to any college, Divine? They are not the ones that dispense the Federal Aid.

  3. After.

  4. Before. . you can send your fasfa to different colleges. .

  5. There really is no big difference but it's better to do it before, I've been doing this for two years so trust me. There are 10 slots to fill up schools, all you do is put down all the ones that you applied to. They automatically take the first school you list but once you get accepted and choose which one you will be attending, you go to the school's financial aid office and ask them to switch it to that school. The reason why is you can't register for classes until your FAFSA goes through or they will make you pay, so it's better to have it filled out before or around the time you get accepted. Besides sometimes your financial aid reward can take months. (I filled out at the end of Jan and haven't gotten mine yet)
