Monday night saw FATBOYZ SLIM winning the Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Stayers Trophy final to the delight of Chris Allsopp – the man in charge of the greyhound that romped across the field in quick time in Nottingham.
The in-form greyhound took less than 43 seconds to cross the finish line with a distance of 12 lengths from the previous runner.
Crowds at Nottingham then witnessed aggressive running at the Betfred Maiden 480m Trophy – a combination of 3 heats – that saw Ambleside Al romping home and qualifying for the final on Monday, May 17, 2011.
The Results: Russel Senior, Francis Lenton, Chris Alsopp win!
Heat 2 was a brief affair as Russel Senior’s greyhound took less than 30 seconds to clear the field to win hands down.
Meanwhile, Heat 1 was overshadowed by Shades of Ace who won in 29.62 seconds to bring glory to owner Francis Lenton.
Greyhound Sandy Legend came back with a vengeance to mark Heat 3 with a win in 29.99 seconds; pushing Chris Alsopp towards greater glory.
Coral On TV Hurdle Trophy Competition
Heat 1 was a delight for the viewers as Not Now Bertie was defeated in an exciting encounter with Aero Vegas at the Coral On TV Hurdle Trophy Competition in 24.65 seconds at Ramford on Monday.
On the other hand, Junior Mac lived up to his expectations as the reigning Irish Grand National champion won Heat 2 in under 25 seconds. Paul Danovan was ecstatic to see his greyhound romping home in quick time.
The Final race on Friday, the 20th of May, will be a delight for greyhound fans with crowds in Nottingham expected to join in numbers. The mouth-watering competition will see Junior Mac, Aero Vegas, Not Now Bertie, Romeo In Miami, Aero Bolt (m) and Baltylum Houdini (w) going head-to-head in a race that will decide who wins the Coral On TV Hurdle Trophy.
