  1. Study what you are interested in. The FBI says they need accountants cause they are short on them now, but will take people from just about any background if they have good grades and can handle the physical rigors of training.

If you hate accounting but major in it anyway and windup at the FBI, then that will be your job, you will be investigating White Collar Crimes your whole career and using accounting techniques to spot fraud, if thats not what you want to do then don't do it.

  2. Accounting and criminal justice would be great majors to double in to be a field agent.

  3. My advice is never major in anything that doesn't hold a deep interest for you.

Psychology is an excellent major for a potential FBI agent. Instead of a double major with your second choice being something you don't like, choose a second major in law enforcement.

If you want to stand out, having excellent grades is one way ... another is to do something extra-curricular that would be in line with someone who is interested in the FBI.  Writing papers to be published about the FBI and its history, joining groups that work with law enforcement (volunteer at the police station), things like that will stand out on your resume later.
