FC Amkar Perm parted company with the former head coach, Rashid Rakhimov, last month after a poor run of results. In the aftermath of his sacking, Rakhimov has criticized the owners of the Russian club, saying that the upper management did not fulfil the
promises.
After a month of silence, the Tajikistani football coach revealed that he did not deserve the sack and highlighted the key areas that need serious attention from the management.
The former Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder went on to reveal the broken promises made by the management and the deceit at hands of the club president, Gennady Shilov.
Rakhimov further revealed that he had to leave the club in a critical situation because he was not given any surety over signing of new players in the upcoming transfer window.
“According to me, Amkar need maximum motivation. Amkar need a change because a change might help them in league survival. When I joined the club, the management had made certain promises. I was assured of signing players during the transfer window. However,
financial resources did not allow me to do so.” Rakhimov was quoted as saying.
He added: “Club president came to me and said that we are under huge amount of debt and when it became clear that Amkar could not end up with a mid-table finish, I began to lose interest in the race.”
The Soviet Cup winner is of the belief that the Navozniki are lacking self confidence at the moment. The promising manager admitted that he cannot face the Amkar fans because he failed to present them a mid-table finish on the league table.
Rakhimov insisted that Amkar did exceptionally well with limited resources and insisted that they were unlucky at times.
After suffering a recent 1-0 defeat against Terek Grozny, the Red-Blacks are currently at the twelfth spot on the league table; Amkar are edging closer to drop zone.
The former Admira Wacker manager went on to suggest that Amkar need to build more academies to attract and train young players. He pleaded with the management to invest on the Russian club if they are to survive the relegation battle.
