FC Augsburg manager Jos Luhukay has stated that he is relieved after the club’s first win of the season against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 in the Bundesliga this season. He admitted that the win has surely put a lot of burden of their shoulders
and is aiming to continue with the impressive displays in the future also.
Augsburg downed Mainz 1-0 at the Coface Arena on Saturday to secure their first three points of the current campaign. The club achieved its first win in the Bundesliga and have climbed to the 16th place on the German
League standings table with seven points from the nine games played so far.
Luhukay claimed that it is a huge burden of their backs. He admitted that the players were under huge amount of pressure before the match as they had not won a single game so far in the campaign and the win has surely brought back
the confidence in the players. He expressed his delight on the win and admitted that the team performed brilliantly in a difficult away fixture.
“This is a huge relief for us. We have had to wait a long time for it and now it has finally arrived. Despite the difficult time over the last two-and-a-half months, the team has always stuck together and given everything. I am
pleased and proud of the team. This is like medicine,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, FSV Mainz manager Thomas Tuchel was disappointed with the performance his side put in and claimed that the team is making things difficult for itself. The club won their first two fixtures in the league and have
not been able to secure a win since then. However, he remained confident that the players will make a strong comeback next week.
“It feels like we have to walk around the village three times now before we can reach the church. We are making our own lives difficult at the moment, but we have the chance to do better next week,” he concluded.
FC Augsburg will take on Werder Bremen next week.
