FC Augsburg‘s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hajime-Hosogai-c15567 content with his full-back role – Bundesliga news
FC Augsburg defender Hajime Hosogai has revealed that he is comfortable in his current defensive role and wants to continue playing in the same position. He also supported the manager’s decision of switching him to full back spot immediately after recruiting
him on loan from Bayer Leverkusen.
The player was talking after Augsburg’s last game against the defending champions, Borussia Dortmund. The match took place on Saturday, October 1, at Signal Iduna Park, and Augsburg lost by a 4-0 margin.
The defender believes that Augsburg’s poor form doesn’t have to do anything with his position on the pitch. He told that it was the manager’s decision to shift him out wide and it has taken him no time to fit in that role.
The player also showed gratitude towards his manager for making the best use of his talent and also expressed satisfaction at his current stint at SGL arena. He accepted the fact that his side underperformed in the game against the Borussians and vowed to
be at the level best in their next league fixture against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166. The match will take place on Saturday, October 15, at Coface Arena.
While talking about his role in the team, the 25-year-old further added, “Some players got injured, and during the training camp I ended up filling in, which was how it began. I had some experience at left full-back for Urawa Reds. Also, I think it’s a positive
sign when you are trusted to fill in on another position.”
He further enthused, “To be honest I do want to play in the ‘volante’ position, especially in a formation with two central midfielders. I’m also aware that I’m not a regular at the national team, so I don’t think it [playing right-back at Augsburg] has an
influence.”
The player landed at Augsburg earlier in 2011 from BayArena and so far has 12 league appearances under his belt to go along with his two goals. Both his goals have come this season from five league appearances.
