FC Barcelona vs. Ceuta: Full Time Report – Part 2
With the score 2-1 the teams left the field for half time. Even though Guardiola’s men were dominating the game but the score wasn’t too much in favour of the Spanish side. They dominated throughout the game and they still found Ceuta
making a comeback during the 34th minute of the first half. As the score line after the first half wasn’t good enough for Guardiola, the score line after the full time whistle totally amazed each and every fan sitting in the Nou Camp.
When the Catalan giants took their positions on the field in the second half, they totally changed the cause of the game. The ball barely went in their half and they passed the ball along well and crafted great moves which helped Pedro
Rodriguez score a goal. In the 50th minute it was Seydou Keita who found Pedro on the right flank making a run forward. The former Sevilla midfielder played it on to Pedro who made no mistake in finding the target and helped the team
take a two goal lead all over again as the score went on to 3-1.
After 3-1, it was all humiliation for the visitors. Barcelona were playing as if they were toying with Ceuta and in the 61st minute Guardiola decided to make another impact as he wasn’t done with the visitors yet.
It was Lionel Messi who took his position on the midfield as Pedro left the field to give a chance to Lionel Messi to score a goal. It was Cristiano Ronaldo who found the net in the 5-1 win that Real Madrid took in their own fixture and the Argentinean maestro
did nothing less. The best player in the world made a move from the right flank and chipped the ball towards the goal which was kicked off the goal line by David Canas. However, Bojan Krkic was right there and the young captain made no mistake from only a
yard out and touched the ball inside the goal.
The team celebrated but it was obvious that they were not done yet – especially not without Lionel Messi finding the net. The Argentinean was in competition with the Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo who looked to find the net more often
than the last year and Lionel Messi was trying to prove a point as well. In the 68th minute, Thiago Alacantare made another beautiful turn outside the 18 yard box and gave a through ball to the sprinting Lionel Messi. The Argentinean
was along in front of goal and there was no way he could miss that as he scored a fine goal from the penalty area.
That goal made Barcelona lead the game with 4 goals as the match reached a stage of humiliation for Ceuta. Of course the Catalan giants felt that too and they started to move the ball along and kept possession of the ball and waited for
the referee to blow the final whistle. The Catalan giants were able to keep 81% possession of the ball which is a record itself as they barely kept the ball more than this before.
The final whistle was blown right when the clock struck the 90thminute and no extra time was given as the referee decided to put Ceuta out of their misery. The Catalan giants performed extremely well and the way the youngsters
took over was simply phenomenal. Now the Catalan giants have to face Villareal on the weekend and the rested players are definitely going to be back on training from tomorrow.
