FC Bordeaux in pole position to sign Algerian international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Ziani-c20381 from VfL Wolfsburg 0 Ligue 1 news
Algerian international Karim Ziani is about to have his contract with German Bundesliga side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 terminated by mutual consent.
The Algerian international has seen the torrid side of a footballer’s life since joining the German club in 2009 from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 and never fully realized his potential since joining the
Lower Saxony and was loaned out to Turkish Super Lig club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kayserispor-c39685 in January 2011.
Ziani had the option to sign for Kayserispor on a permanent basis but the midfielder has now expressed his desire to return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 where he made a name for himself.
Initially AS Saint-Etienne were also interested in the services of the versatile midfielder but it now seems that Girondins de Bordeaux might steal the march over Les Verts for the signature of the Fennec.
In a conflicting report, Saint Etienne coach Christophe Galtier has denied that the club ever made an approach for the Algerian international. Galtier said that the club never considered signing Ziani.
The recent revelations from the Rhone-Alpes have now cleared the way for Bordeaux who are looking to sign a playmaker this summer.
According to reports in Algerian sports newspapers, Les Girondins are looking to bring in the 28-year-old as a replacement for Czech international Jaroslav Plasil who might leave the club this summer. However, Bordeaux are well-equipped in the midfield are
with Wendel, Jussie and Maurice-Belay all in great shape.
A move to Bordeaux could prove to be a good decision for Karim Ziani who has seen his career stood still since joining Wolfsburg where he never really settled down. Furthermore, the Algerian has a good experience of playing in the Ligue 1 after having had
successful stints with the likes of Troyes, Lorient, Sochaux and Marseille.
Ziani impressed a lot during his spells with Sochaux and Marseille and a move to Bordeaux could be benefited by both the club and player.
