http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brek-Shea-c8033 wins it at Pizza Hut Park – Major League Soccer recap
FC Dallas hosted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818 at Pizza Hut Park in a week-7 Major League Soccer fixture staged on Sunday. Brek Shea snatched the three points from the guests with a late goal. The final scoreline of 2—1 at the end of 90 minutes read in favour of FC
Dallas.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Landon-Donovan-c21646 equalised barely five minutes later. Shea, however, had the last say as he scored the decisive goal two minutes prior to the final whistle.
The first half remained scoreless as both the teams tried to find the net in the run of play, but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Hartman-c20728 were having impressive outings in their respective goals.
Both FCD and LA Galaxy could not find enough space to test the goalkeepers in the first 15 minutes, however, the Hoops took the initiative moments later when Marvin Chavez connected with the ball on a throw-in. The player turned on the spot to the finish
the job, but Ricketts was alert enough in the goal to push the ball around the far post.
The Galaxy settled down soon after as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 found Landon Donovan in the penalty area from 25 yards out. The English right-winger looped the ball to the skipper in hopes open the scoring. Hartman though, was quick enough to keep the score line at
0—0 but his attempt to do so came at the cost of Jair Benitez; the keeper held Benitez’s left leg while punching the ball away, which caused the defender a left knee injury. Benitez was replaced with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zach-Loyd-c37763 in the 36thminute.
Beckham was about to assist his team’s first goal when he sighted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chad-Barrett-c8743 in the box. The playmaker fed the striker with a cross after FCD’s poor defence let the Englishman get close to the goal-line. The inch-perfect cross landed at Barrett’s feet
but the striker failed to apply the finishing touches to the move and the score line remained barren.
The start to the second half was a major improvement. Two minutes into the restart the Toros scored their first goal courtesy Castillo’s head. Jackson Goncalves found http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrew-Jacobson-c5914 with a throw-in, who flicked the ball to the Columbian. Castillo’s headed
lob looped over Ricketts and into the goal as the player marked his first MLS goal for the Red Stripes.
Los Galacticos replied five minutes later when Brazilian Juninho threaded a through ball to Donovan, who was waiting in the FCD penalty area. Lloyd tried to stop the Galaxy skipper, but Donovan nutmegged the defender and rolled the ball into the far post
for the equalizer.
With the game fast drawing to a close, Lightening storm invaded the field, and the players had to retreat from the pitch for more than an hour. When the teams resumed their positions after the storm, Shea made the decisive attempt. The 21-year-old made sure
the Hoops fans returned home happy when the midfielder’s attempted cross evaded everyone in the box and nestled into the far post, thus stealing all three points from the opposition.
FCD now hit the road to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/DC-United-c38901 at RFK Stadium on March 7, whereas Los Angeles Galaxy host New York Red Bulls at Home Depot Center in a match that is being tipped as ‘The Clash of the Titans’.
