The game got off to a slow start and the first attempt at goal came as late as the 15th minute, when left-winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brek-Shea-c8033 tried his luck. His try failed to trouble the goalkeeper as it flew high and wide of the goal.
Later on, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Torsten-Frings-c35477 tried to win the ball from the visitors and fouled Shea in the attempt, winning a yellow card for his troubles.
In the 39th minute, Joao Plata received a pass from Gianluca Zavarise and fired a shot from outside the box. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Hartman-c20728, however, was up to the task.
The Canadians continued with their physical approach and finally paid for it. Richard Eckersley, who had been playing a physical game since the start, dragged Marvin Chavez down in the penalty area. The referee pointed to the penalty spot right away and
showed the Reds’ defender a yellow card.
The Toros skipper, Daniel Hernandez, stepped forward, but his attempt was predictable and Milos Kocic parried his shot away.

The original first leg of Group C match was scheduled for the Wednesday night, but harsh weather conditions had forced the game to be postponed to Thursday and as per CCL rules, it had to be restarted.
The Toros now lead the group with two wins, while the Canadian’s drop to second spot after recording their first defeat.
