ADO Den Haag have strengthened their midfield by signing FC Emmen’s Tjaronn Chery. Reports from Kyocera Stadion confirm that the 23-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him with ADO until the summer of 2013.
The young midfielder is a product of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Skills-c40539 as he made just a single appearance at De Grolsch Veste,
and was loaned to SC Cambuur where he managed to play 15 matches. At the start of 2009/10 season, he was loaned to RBC Roosendaal, where he scored his first senior goal and played 30 matches.
However, the 23-year-old flourished with FC Emmen who signed him at the start of 2010/11 season, scoring nine goals in 26 games. Furthermore, the midfielder was also voted ‘Talent of the year of the Jupiler League’ last season.
Gerry Volkers, Emmen’s technical director, was happy after both sides successfully negotiated the deal. Volkers’ joy is justified as his side made a profit on the deal. Reports suggest that ADO have paid around 175,000 Euros to Emmen to acquire the services
of the 23-year-old for the next couple of seasons. Volkers, though, did not disclose the original amount of the transfer fee.
“I cannot disclose the transfer fee, but I can say that with ADO we have concluded arrangements for a possible resale. Therefore, If ADO sells Chery we will receive some compensation. We are pleased with the deal. Certainly financial,” Volkers was quoted
as saying to media.
The 23-year-old is one of the first purchases for ADO in the ongoing summer transfer market. Earlier, The Hague outfit were also linked with VVV-Venlo’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar, who have made an improved bid
for the striker.
Chery’s acquisition is just the beginning of the strengthening of ADO squad for the upcoming season.
