FC Girondins de Bordeaux midfielder Jaroslav Plasil opens door to an exit –Ligue 1 news
29-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 international Jaroslav Plasil has indicated that he might not be at Bordeaux by the end of the current summer transfer window.
The 29-year-old is attracting a lot of interest from the likes of Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130. Following a strong season on a personal note in which he played all 38 league games for Les Girondins and scored four goals, Plasil is
keen on making a move away from the club.
While talking on the media regarding his future, the former AS Monaco man admitted that he is still a Bordeaux player but added, “When you are a player you always want to play in Europe. It (exit) depends on a lot of things. It’s great to know that the clubs
are interested in me. However I’m still on holiday so I’m not thinking much about these things right now.”
The 29-year-old’s recent comments might not have been clear but they do indicate that he is keen on moving on to a new challenge in his football career. The Czech has also expressed his desire to play in Europe next season, something that Bordeaux can’t
offer him.
Plasil’s first stint in Ligue 1 came when AS Monaco signed him from SK Hradec Kralove in the summer of 2000. Plasil eventually cemented a regular place in the Monaco starting XI after spending the 2002/2003 season on loan at Ligue 2 side Creteil. After making
122 appearances for the Monegasque club, Plasil joined La Liga side Osasuna.
At Osasuna, Plasil made 66 appearances between 2007 and 2009 before he joined Bordeaux in the summer of 2009 for a fee believed to be in the region of three million Euros. Plasil signed a three-year-deal with Les Girondins which means that he still has a
year left on his contract.
With the Czech looking to make a move away from Stade Chaban Delmas, Bordeaux might also want to sell the player for some price rather than letting him leave as a free agent after his loan spell expires. Furthermore, Plasil is at the peak of his career right
now and should be playing at the highest level possible which means a move away from Bordeaux makes a lot of sense.
