The Green-White-Army head coach has insisted that his side will try their utmost against SBV Excelsior to bag maximum points on Eredivisie match-day 27.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Groningen-c39119 head coach, Pieter Huistra, has insisted that his side will put in their hundred per cent to bag all three points against SBV Excelsior. The two sides will meet at Stadion Woudestein on Friday, March 23.
Pride of the North are coming into this match on the back of four defeats in a row. However, the Dutch trainer has insisted that his side will look to end their poor run of shows in the upcoming encounter against the relegation threatened side.
“At Excelsior we will now show that with enthusiasm and willpower, we will go for three points. Perhaps because the spring has begun, the spirit is very good in the team and smiles are returning to people's faces. Excelsior are a very difficult team at home
and we will have to defend right from the kick-off”, Huistra was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The Green-White-Army are currently occupying the 11th spot in the league table, a mere two points adrift of the Europa League play-offs spot.
Pride of the North have performed brilliantly at home, losing only three of their 13 home fixtures. However, their poor displays on the road, securing all three points on only once in 13 matches, have forced them to drop down to the bottom half of the Eredivisie
table.
Meanwhile, the outfit from Excelsior head coach, John Lammers, has expressed confidence that his troops have what it takes to emerge victorious against FC Groningen, but also admitted that it will not be an easy task.
“We have played erratically thus far. However, we know that we can win against Groningen. They are currently having a difficult period, but on the other hand, they have many qualities as well. It will not be as easy, but we will do our utmost to win the
game”, Lammers was quoted as saying to FCupdate.nl.
SBV Excelsior are currently placed 17th in the Eredivisie table, a mammoth ten points adrift of the safety zone.
