FC Groningen seal David Texeira signing from Defensor Sporting – Dutch Eredivisie news

2013/14 season.
Pride of the North would be extremely delighted with the successful acquisition of the 20-year-old after losing their star forward, Tim Matavz, to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven on the final day of the recently concluded transfer window.
Hans Nijland, the Green-White-Army general manager, has revealed that the arrival of such a player would certainly boost his side’s morale that was on a low after the departure of Matavz.
“I understand he just needed the final rubber stamp. The fact he can play does not mean he will play, that is of course down to the coaching staff. But it is always a bonus for a player from outside the EU to be available after only 10 days”, Nijland was
quoted as saying to the media.
The young striker started his professional career at Sporting in the summer of 2009. The Uruguayan hitman scored six goals in his 22 appearances for the club before arriving at Euroborg Stadion.
The 20-year-old will be taking his first training session with his new teammates on Saturday, September 10. Pieter Huistra, Pride of the North head coach, will then determine whether the striker would be taking any part in their upcoming encounter against
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Heerenveen-c40463 at Abe Lenstra Stadion on Sunday.
“Although, Texeira has missed a total of four training sessions, he can still make his debut against Heerenveen. However, it depends upon Huistra whether he wants to give him some playing time or not”, Nijland concluded.
The Green-White-Army have reportedly acquired the services of the 20-year-old after reaching an agreement worth 1.5 million Euros with the Sporting. The young centre-forward has signed a three-year contract with the outfit from Groningen with an option to
prolong his stay at Euroborg Stadion for another two years.
