FC Groningen’s Tim Matavz not joining SSC Napoli and staying at Euroborg Stadion – Eredivisie news
FC Groningen’s Tim Matavz’s performances this season haven’t gone unnoticed outside of Netherlands, as Serie A outfit SSC Napoli were keen to add the young striker to their ranks in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Azzurri earlier showed their
interest to sign the striker in the winter transfer market, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
The 22-year-old striker was tipped to be pursue his career in one of the most competitive leagues around the globe, as the Azzurri management had agreed upon the personal terms with Matavz earlier in April. The eight million Euros price tag, however,
proved beyond the financial reach of the Azzurri management.
Pride of the North’s top scorer of the 2010/11 season has now made the decision himself to stop negotiations with the Serie A outfit and decided to pursue his career at Euroborg Stadion for the next couple of seasons. Matavz current contract with his
club runs until the summer of 2013.

Nijland said, “We were informed by Tim that he no longer feels a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 because they have not reached an agreement. He has shown that he wants to play with us again next season.”

his stay at Euroborg Stadion.
