FC Kaiserslautern is confident of claiming all three points against rivals FSV Mainz in the weekend’s Bundesliga fixture. The club captain Martin Amedick and manager Marco Kurz are hopeful of a good performance in the fixture and
predicted that a win would definitely change the fortunes of their side for the remainder of the season.
Kaiserslautern will host Mainz on Saturday at the Fritz-Walter-Stadium in search of their first win of the season. The home side are currently 17th on the standings table with two points whereas Mainz have fallen from
the first spot to 12th as they could not capitalize on the brilliant start to the season.
Club captain Martin Amedick claimed that the team has put a lot of hard work in training over the past few weeks and are fully prepared for the battle. He insisted that the players will go out in search for a win and make the fans
happy as it has not been a very good start to the current season.
“I'm only thinking about the game against Mainz. We've had a good week in training and I'd like to enjoy Saturday's game and take all three points. We want to do something for the fans and pose more of a threat in front of goal,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The manager Marco Kurz also remained confident that the fortunes of the side will change after a win and admitted that the players and determined and eager to get their first win of the season.
“A derby is a different kind of game. We want to win it for our fans as much as for ourselves. It's been a long time coming but once we win, everyone can breathe easier. We're the only ones who can make that happen and we're working
hard to make sure it does,” he added.
FC Kaiserslautern have so far played five league games and have gathered two points from draws hence suffering two losses. The Red Devils lost in their lost outing to Borussia Monchengladbach.
