FC Koln defender Youssef Mohamad insists he will stay at the club- Bundesliga news
FC Koln defender Youssef Mohamad has insisted that he will stay at the club after speculation that he will leave in this summer’s transfer window with reported interest from a German side. He claimed that he still has time left
on his contract and he will honour it surely.
FC Koln had a mixed season last term as the Billy Goats secured a 10th place finish in the Bundesliga. Koln fought the relegation battle for most of the second half of the campaign but some great results in the last
few games saw them secure their Bundesliga status.
Mohamad insisted that he still has two years left on his current contract and added that he will surely stay for the next season. He admitted that he was unsettled in the last season but he is happy now and would love to stay for
many more years with the club.
“I have two-year contract and I respect that. Why should I leave the club if all goes well? It's true, I was unhappy last winter. But now I feel very comfortable here and stay,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Lebanese international remained confident that his team would better the tenth place finish in the last season. He claimed that the players have worked very hard in training and are determined to perform to fight for the honours.
“I hope more than ninth place. But first we should focus on achieving a mid-table place. What we can do, we have shown in the second half. So if we manage a good start and we have no injury worries, then I believe that we can
land at the end, even among the top eight,” the defender concluded.
