FC Koln goalkeeper Michael Rensing unhappy after Dortmund loss- Bundesliga news
FC Koln goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Rensing-c25366 has stated that he is unhappy with his side’s poor performance against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga this previous weekend. He claimed that FC Koln were surely not up to the mark and their
weak areas were definitely exploited by the current German Bundesliga champions.
Koln were hammered by Borussia Dortmund 5-0 at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday courtesy a brace from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Kehl-c32732. The visitors suffered their fifth defeat
of the campaign and are now sitting in 12th place on the Bundesliga standings table with four wins.
Rensing was hugely disappointed with the loss and admitted that his side was too slow against the Bundesliga champions. He insisted that the team failed to hold on to the ball with consistency and were outplayed by the pace of
the home side.
“There's not much point in saying all too much about it. Everything we did, we did it too slowly. We were constantly caught out of position - someone not tucking in properly, someone else in the wrong place. Dortmund whipped up
a storm, and we caved in,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 Under-21 international stated that he truly understands the frustration from the fans after the result. He claimed that his side has been very inconsistent from the start and it has been hard on the fans who at least
expect the players to give in their best for every game.
Rensing praised Jurgen Klopp’s side for their dominant football throughout the course of 90 minutes but rued poor defending and missed chances from Koln.
“Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time. A lot of our away games over the back end of last season followed a similar pattern. Anyone can concede a goal, or two, at Dortmund. But those are the very situations where you have to
show character,” the shot stopper concluded.
Michael Rensing has so far made 24 appearances for the Billy Goats in all competitions after his move in the summer of the 2009-10 season from Bayern Munich. The 27-year old has also played 18 times for the Under-21 national side.
