FC Koln midfielder Martin Lanig satisfied with performances last season- Bundesliga news
FC Koln midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Lanig-c24405 has stated that he is satisfied with his performances for the club last season. He insisted that it was a good year for him as he had the chance to play regularly for the club after returning from
injury.
FC Koln had a mixed season in the Bundesliga as they finished in 10th place with 44 points with 13 wins and 16 losses. The club fought relegation for most of the season but a revival at the end saw them stay in the league
for another campaign.
Lanig claimed that he is well satisfied with his displays for Koln and insisted that he has recovered well after a tear in his cruciate ligament saw him miss most of the 2009-10 campaign with VfB Stuttgart. The player added that
he has improved considerably in the past few months and now he wants to play at his full potential.
“For me it was a decent year. In Stuttgart, I had not played long in the penultimate season after a torn ACL a year. The first year after such a serious injury is always difficult. But now I've stabilized and I know that I have
more potential,” the German was quoted as saying in an interview.
The midfielder also admitted that the club’s performances last season were not up to the mark and labelled inconsistency the main reason for the disappointing campaign. The former Hoffenheim player stated that he wants to play
regular first team football and wants to improve his goal scoring ability.
“We had three new coaches last season, hence it is not a new situation for us all. For me is important, particularly in the preparation, how I present myself and daily work. My goal is to be regulars, and I want to improve my goal
threat. For that I have been working on holiday,” he concluded.
Martin Lanig’s career has been plagued with injury worries. The midfielder made only two appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 in the 2009-10 season before joining FC Koln last summer.
