The relegated Bundesliga outfit has let go off their defender after he was endangered by the club supporters on Friday, as the second division team was left with no other alternative.

Bundesliga side’s shortcomings in the league campaign.
The team manager stated that it is sad that the incident took place, which made it impossible for the versatile footballer to continue featuring for them in the future, after the team lost to Energie Cottbus 1-0. The 23-year-old
played 90 games for the Billy Goats in a span of four years.
"Things have happened that prevented Kevin from playing football in this club," Koln coach Holger Stanislawski was quoted as saying in an interview.
The trainer claimed that this behaviour from the fans is unacceptable and that they would try to make sure that this does not happen again. He said that they had to terminate the player’s contract because the angry mob made it
hard for him to even walk safely on the roads, and it was important so that his safety is guaranteed.
“That is not tolerable. If a player is afraid to even cross the street then we have exceeded acceptable limits. We had to take this option," he mused.
The chief executive of the German board of football further stressed that the defender was even troubled to be able to go to the ground safely.
"Kevin told us he was no longer able to go into the stadium," the director of the board Claus Horstmann added.
"If we as players and as a team don't perform we take on criticism. But we won't accept that individual players are humiliated and personally threatened by individuals," the Koln players concluded.
Pezzoni’s former team members expressed their concern for their colleague and said that it is just unbelievable that he is on the end of all the rants from the club supporters , even though, the team was to be criticised.
