FC Koln’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Youssef-Mohamad-c37588 still not an Al Ahli player despite completing a medical in Dubai
FC Koln officials have confirmed about the possible departure of their defender Youssef Mohamad during the summer. However, the Billy Goats officials told that Youssef won’t be signing with the Dubai-based outfit until the club find his replacement.
Al Ahli chairman, meanwhile, has disagreed with the Koln authorities, saying that the club are close to signing the defender.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lebanon-c2939 defender had confirmed about his successful medical with Al Ahli on Monday. He mentioned that Koln officials agreed to a deal proposed by the UAE giants, and that he is close to beginning his new journey in Dubai. He further told that the German
officials have asked him not to sign a contract until a replacement is found and he is bound to follow their instructions.
The Billy Goats manager, Stale Solbakken, enthused that the club are searching for a defender as good as Youssef. He further added that the Lebanese is a competent stopper whose replacement would be hard to find. The manager further praised his defender
by lauding his performances during his four-year span at the club. Solbakken also applauded the defender’s commitment towards the club and wished him success for his new journey in UAE.
Koln’s sporting director, Volker Finke, while talking to the club’s website, stated:
"[Mohamad] has called me from Lebanon and advised that the club Al Ahli Dubai has made contact with him. Then we have agreed to his request to carry out a medical examination. But there are at present neither a transfer decision, nor confirmation on a
contractual side of a transfer for the player. We have made it clear that we will only agree to the transfer if we find at least an equivalent replacement for the central defender position and receive an appropriate transfer fee.”
The stopper joined Billy Goats in 2007 after spending three years with the fellow Bundesliga outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462. He bagged 10 goals from 120 league games before deciding to part ways. The 31-year-old made 35 international appearances for Lebanon during
his seven-year international career (2000-2007).
