FC Lorient looking to extend Jeremie Aliadiere's contract – Ligue 1 news
Just months after joining Ligue 1 side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153 on a free transfer, former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere is having a great return to French football and after some great performances for Les Merlus, the 28-year-old might be offered an extension to
his contract.
Lorient coach, Christian Gourcuff made a big gamble when he signed the striker on a free transfer. However, the French tactician was careful about Aliadiere’s history and offered him a one-year contract with an option for another three years if he performed
well.
The Clairefontaine graduate had joined the Brittany side in hope of reviving his career that had hit new lows in the past few seasons.
“I signed for one year, with an option for another three years. It was agreed with the coach, the president and my agent. We will discuss this (extension) on November 1. If both parties are happy, I think there will be no problem,” said the former
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middlesbrough_F.C. man.
Just three months into his return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Du-c11689 Moustoir.
While talking about his decision to join Lorient, the 28-year-old said that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joel-Campbell-c18716 had convinced him to join Gourcuff’s side and after talking with the coach, he had made his decision to try his luck at a club that finished 11th
in the Ligue 1 standings last season.
Now, it seems that the striker is willing to extend his contract with the club and coach Christian Gourcuff is also willing to tie down the Frenchman on a three-year deal. The new contract would keep Aliadiere at the Brittany club until 2015.
“Six months ago, I was not feeling good and I wanted to quit football. I was at the bottom of the pile,” said while talking about his time when his contract at
Middlesbrough expired.
So far, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 man has scored two goals in six games for the Ligue 1 outfit and is slowly proving himself to be an integral part of the Lorient starting XI.
