FC Porto's Fredy Guarin looking to end the club's woeful run – Primeira Liga News
FC Porto’s Fredy Guarin claims that his side will be able to end their woeful run of games. The Portistas suffered a draw in their UEFA Champions League game against APOEL, which was preceded by a 3-1 hammering  at the hands of Zenit St. Petersburg; however
the midfielder claims that they can bounce back to their very best.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitor-c36281 Pereira’s men have not been in the best form of recently. Far from ripping apart teams in Liga Sagres and punching above their weight in Europe, the club has been woeful in their last couple of fixtures.
Although they were able to thrash Pero Pinheiro 8-0 in their Portuguese Cup tie, the opposition hardly posed any threat and were steam rolled by the Dragons.
However what has really frustrated the players and the fans alike is their run in the UEFA Champions League. After winning the UEFA Europa League in May, high expectations were placed on the Dragao to match their feats against Europe’s elite. But in reality,
things have been quite different.
In their opening game, the Estadio do Dragao outfit narrowly escaped with three points against Shakhtar Donetsk. But after that they were on the wrong end of severe 3-1 beating in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991, which was followed up by a poor 1-1 draw with APOEL.
While many have now favoured Benfica to pip the current champions to the title, Fredy Guarin reiterates that his side have been faced with similar problems in the past and they will surely overcome them.
"I remember what happened two seasons ago. When we played poorly and had negative results. It's a bit like the same what is going on now. Hopefully this phase will not last long and we will quickly be able to overcome all the obstacles.”
He also said that they have to improve immediately and get their season back on track, so as to end up with silverware when the campaign concluded.
"When FC Porto does not play well, things do not go right. We should be a little more mature and battle these difficulties with the full awareness that Porto must always win whether playing at home or away,” he said.
Getting back to winning ways is what http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nacional-c39984 on the 23rd of October in the Primeira Liga.
