FC Porto have further secured 50 percent of Nicolas Otamendi’s playing rights from Velez Sarsfield, after the defender’s impressive performances last term.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 International, Otamendi, has seen his stock grow to new heights as he not only participated in the prestigious Copa America, but also managed to become the mainstay of the Portista backline that stood firm in the quadruple winning 2010/2011
season.
Primarily plying his trade as a centre-back, the 23-year-old formed a strong partnership with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rolando-c31583 at the back and was integral to his side success, as they did not concede a league defeat in the whole of the last campaign.
Although a first choice at Estadio do Dragao, the club did not have complete control over their asset, as Velez Sarsfield also had a 50 percent stake in the player’s rights. But the Portuguese outfit, keen to be the only one with shares, bought the remaining
50 percent from the Argentine club in a deal worth €4 million.
In a statement issued to the Portuguese stock exchange, Porto revealed the exact financial details of the transaction and publicly announced the purchase.
"Velez Sarsfield have exercised their option to sell the remaining 50 per cent of the economic rights of the player Nicolas Otamendi for €4million," an official Porto statement to the stock exchange read.
Nicolas Otamendi‘s total fee now swells to €8 million.
SC Braga looking to negotiate Lima’s new contract
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 Jardim’s men have already started the negotiation process to give star striker, Lima, another deal at the helm, as his contract expires in 2013.
Arguably the best players the Archbishops possess, Lima has been revelation at Estadio AXA with his uncanny ability to find the back of the net on a regular basis.
With superb performances like his, Besiktas looked to snap up the attacker in the summer only to be thwarted by SC Braga, who refused to sell their biggest asset on a low transfer fee. But it is widely expected that Lima will attract more attention in the
future, making it vital that he pens down a new contract.
The club is likely to offer a pay rise, alongside better bonuses, but it remains to be seen whether the forward accepts the proposal.
