FC Porto not dependent on Hulk and James Rodriguez, says Vitor Pereira– Report
FC Porto coach, Vitor Pereira, has claimed that although Hulk and James Rodriguez are two very important players, the club is not totally reliant on them for winning matches and that responsibility falls on the whole team.
Arguably the two best offensive players at Estadio do Dragao, Hulk and James Rodriguez have been the leading light for the club in the season thus far.
Brazilian International, Hulk, has taken on the burden of consistently finding the back of the net from the departed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276 and so far has been in superb form. Having already netted several times in the Primeira Liga, the striker also opened his
account for the Dragons in the UEFA Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Being the set-piece taker for his side, the mercurial forward stepped up to the plate in mid-week with an absolute scorcher from 35-yards, a goal already in contention for the year’s best.
Like his teammate, James Rodriguez has also been making the headlines this campaign for the right reasons.
Primarily playing as a winger, the Colombian International boasts two league goals to his name but that does not do justice to his abilities on the pitch.
Rodriguez is more partial to creating goals for his fellow players rather than getting on the score sheet himself. His display against Shakhtar was testament to that, as he laid on a crucial assist for Kleber to score Porto’s second of the night.
While both Rodriguez and Hulk are at their jaw-dropping best, Dragao boss Vitor Pereira claims that they are not the only players capable of winning games and the whole team works to together for win.
"I advocate a concept of collective game, which eventually becomes visible to players. When we talk about the Hulk and James, we are talking about two players of great talent, so it is natural that they actually show a level of play that can lead people
to think that Porto depend on this or that. But for me, FC Porto depend on the whole,” the trainer was quoted as saying.
