Rumours are rife that the 33-year-old Andre Villas-Boas would be joining a top European club in the summer. However, FC Porto president, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nuno-Pinto-c28241 da Costa, insists that the tactician will not leave the managerial hot seat at the end of the season
and will lead the Dragons next term as well.
Villas-Boas is rated highly in the managers’ ranks and is regarded as one of the best young coaches in the world. The 33-year-old tactician has already led his side to glory in the Portuguese Liga this season and looks set to replicate the domestic form
in UEFA Europa League. Reports indicate that top European clubs are hot in his pursuit and he could be offered a job in the summers.
Pinto da http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Villarreal-CF-c40899 in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final in front of their home crowd on Thursday, April 28. After the match, he mooted speculations that the Dragons’ tactician
could be prized out at the end of the season.
He said, “For starters, that is a scenario I do not consider, because he has said that he does not even want to engage in talks. He even said today, when he was told Juventus would come here, that it must have been for them to see him flaunt his suit with
FC Porto's badge on it. He has said countless times he does not want to leave.”
“If he does not want to leave, why should I be worried, if I do not want that either? I am absolutely sure he will be here next year”, he concluded.
The 33-year-old tactician was appointed as the Porto manager at the start of the 2010/11 campaign. Villas-Boas won his first trophy with the Dragons on August 7, 2010, when his side defeated http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SL-Benfica-c40542 2-0 in the Portuguese Supercup. He also set the club
record of 36 matches unbeaten in all competitions, besting Jose Mourinho’s record of 33 unbeaten games.
The Dragons currently sit atop the league table, owing much to their young tactician. They have a mammoth lead of 19 points over second placed Benfica and with nine points left to grab, Porto have already won the Portuguese Liga title this season. Under
