FC Porto star, Hulk, has revealed that he is aiming to carry on his goalscoring form into the 2011/2012 campaign in order to gain a berth in the highly competitive http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 national team.
The 25-year-old was in blistering form last season and notched up an incredible tally of 36 goals during Porto’s highly successful campaign.
Despite being one of the hottest properties in Europe and a regular feature for his side on the domestic front, Hulk has been consistently overlooked for national team duty for more well-known names such Robinho and Neymar.
While Mano Menezes has explained that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 being a second striker does not fit into his style of play, the fact remains that the top-scorer of the Portuguese Primeira Liga did not even make it into his national squad.
However, Hulk has not given up the hope of representing his country and claimed that he intends to replicate his pre-season form in the upcoming campaign.
"I am very happy to have started pre-season, after finishing the last to score goals. My goal is to maintain last year's average, because a striker is all about goals.” The Brazilian International was quoted as saying.
The attacker also acknowledged that he has been given the opportunities to shine and said that he will do his utmost best to make use of them to secure a place in the national team.
"For I have opportunities, to be selected, I have to be right in the club. I'll try to keep this sequence of games and goals in order to have new opportunities in the Brazil team.” He added.
Hulk also backed the new manager for success at the helm and revealed that his coaching methods are not that different from those of Andre Villas-Boas.

While it is still unclear whether Hulk will be able to crack the Selecao team or lift more trophies with Porto, it is certain that the highly-rated front man will be on the goalscoring charts next season.
