According to FC Porto striker Hulk’s agent, the player was looking for a chance to reunite with former coach Andre Villas-Boas at English Premier League side Chelsea.
His agent, Theodoro Fonseca, confirmed that there were various club’s interested in his client’s services, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and Tottenham Hotspur also showing interest. However, the Blues lead in the race for the 25-year-old, having been heavily
linked with him in the summer transfer window.
The reason why Hulk has not yet left FC Porto as yet is his buy-out clause, which currently stands at £87.5 million. The world record fee, if paid, would ensure Hulk’s services, though no club has as yet agreed to pay the said fee, since many consider it
too over the top.
Fonseca said while speaking to reporters:
"In all transfer windows there are polls and contacts with several clubs.”
It was under Villas-Boas at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 that Hulk had one of his best seasons, making a total of 53 appearances in all competitions with 36 goals and 21 assists. Well into the new season, he has managed just 12 goals and 9 assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.
His agent confirmed that the player was a huge fan of the 34-year-old Chelsea manager and was looking forward to the possibility of reuniting with him in the English Premier League. Despite the agent’s claim, the Blues are yet to make an official enquiry
for the player.
He revealed:
“Andre Villas-Boas knows him very well and they have a very good relationship. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 or with any other team because he likes the way he coaches.”
While http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fonseca-c13888 admitted Hulk wanted a move to Chelsea and revealed he was confident anything could happen, he claimed the striker was happy at FC Porto.
Fonseca continued:
“In football everything is possible, but his buy-out clause is very expensive, so his future will depend on the agreement between the two clubs.
However, Hulk is doing very well at Porto and he has a very good relationship with the club.”
