http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven: Mertens and Herea to shine – UEFA Europa League preview
In the latest round of UEFA Europa League, FC Rapid Bucuresti and PSV Eindhoven will go head-to-head at Nationala Arena on Thursday, September 29. Both sides kicked-off their campaigns with easy wins in the last round and would be hopeful of three points.
FC Rapid Bucuresti
The Giulestenii started their Europa League campaign with a 1-0 win against Hapoel Tel-Aviv on September 15. Although Tel-Aviv staged an impressive show and put constant pressure on the Feroviarii, they still failed to turn the outcome of the match in their
favour by the end of 90 minutes.
Razvan Lucescu, the Giulestenii head coach, believes that his side have the quality to bag all three points against the Dutch giants.
“This game reminds me of the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 in 2005. We have good memories from that match. A victory against PSV would enhance our chances of progressing through to the next phase of the competition”, Lucescu said while talking to the media.
PSV Eindhoven
The Boeren are brimming with confidence following their emphatic 7-1 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roda-JC-c40375 Kerkrade at Philips Stadion on September 24. The Eindhoven giants performed exceptionally well on the pitch and ripped apart the outfit from Kerkrade.
PSV also managed to secure an easy 1-0 win in their Europa League opener against Legia Warsaw. The Boeren dominated proceedings on the pitch and cruised to claim all three points by the end of 90 minutes.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fred-c14136 Rutten, PSV manager, would be a happy man after watching his side performing highly in their recent games.
“With players aged between 28 and 33, their defence is especially experienced. Their results show they do not concede many goals. They may not be very big names, but they work very well as a team. That does not change our way of playing, though. We must
go for the win”, Rutten said.

Players to watch
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ovidiu-Herea-c28912 – FC Rapid Bucuresti
Since his arrival at Rapid Bucuresti in the summer of 2007, the attacking midfielder has emerged as one of the key players for the Giulestenii. The 26-year-old scored the winner against Hapoel Tel-Aviv in their last Europa League encounter and will be looking
to add his name to the score-sheet in this match as well.
Dries Mertens – PSV Eindhoven
The Belgian ace is in supreme goalscoring form this season. He has scored 11 goals in seven appearances, not to forget his valuable assists as well, and is looking hungry to add more to his name.
The 24-year-old has remained a constant menace for his opposition on the left flank. The Belgian winger’s ability to deliver pinpoint crosses into the box coupled with his knack for shooting from long range makes him a key player for the Eindhoven giants.
Prediction
It would be an intriguing battle between Rapid Bucuresti and PSV, as both sides would be looking to register their second win of Europa League. However, the Boeren’s exceptional recent form puts them as the favourites to emerge victorious. The match will
end in a 1-3 win for PSV.
