FC Rostov’s Alexandru Gatcan satisfied with a draw against Rubin Kazan: Russian Premier League news

In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, FC Rostov drew 1-1 against Rubin Kazan courtesy goals from Salvatore Bocchetti and Maksim Grigoryev for Rostov and Rubin respectively.

After a quiet first half, where both the teams failed to score, the home team took the lead in the 56th minute but the visitors cancelled their lead soon after with a deserved equalizer. Both the teams tried to find a late winner but the match
ended up in a draw.

Following the match, FC Rostov midfielder Alexandru Gatcan expressed his satisfaction after claiming a vital point in a closely contested game. Gatcan is of the opinion that both the teams created a host of chances and battled to a draw
after gruelling action.

The fact that Rostov managed to claim a point after back-to-back league defeats against Zenit St. Petersburg and FC Krasnodar pleased the promising midfielder, who admitted that the Selmashi survived against a tough opponent.

Gatcan went on to admit that it was nice to play against his former club and admitted that he still keeps an eye on the Tatary results.

The former Spartak Moscow player denied that the Volzhane have brought too many players to the Tsentralnyi Stadion and highlighted his former teammates Christian Noboa, Roman Sharonov, Vladimir Dyadyun and Cristian Ansaldi.

Speaking on the blunder made by Hector Bracamonte, which led to the goal, Gatcan refused to single out his performance and insisted that Rostov need to work on their defence.

The Moldovan national remained tight-lipped over the omission of his teammate, Roman Adamov, from the squad. Gatcan revealed that the squad believes in the head coach, Sergei Balakhnin, and admitted that he has a lot of respect for the Russian national.

Balakhnin had filled the vacant managerial position at the Russian outfit after resignation of the former head coach, Oleg Protasov, who was forced out of the club after a string of poor results.

FC Rostov are currently on the tenth spot on the league table and preparing for the upcoming league tie against FC Tom Tomsk. Gatcan admitted that Tomsk will make life difficult for Rostov as they are already in a relegation battle.
