FC Rostov’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valentin-Filatov-c35832 tips Zenit St. Petersburg to progress in the UEFA Champions League
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Rostov-c39192 defender, Valentin Filatov, has summed up Zenit St. Petersburg’s performance in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, admitting that Zenit are in pole position to progress to the later stages of the European tournament.
Filatov is of the opinion that Zenit have the capability to batter some of the top European clubs. The Russian national highlighted that the Meshki are working hard to progress to the knock-out stages of the Champions league.
The former Spartak Nalchik player went on to praise Zenit head coach, Luciano Spalletti, and admitted that the Italian tactician has an offensive approach towards the game.

"St. Petersburg deserve the league title. I think nobody can beat them. I like the team and I wish Zenit success in European competition.” Filatov was quoted as saying.
The Russian outfit have been tied alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Apoel in the group stages of the Champions League. The talismanic defender is of the belief that the Ukrainian Premier League title holders need to be on their toes when they
visit Petrovsky stadium in the upcoming European clash.
Having claimed four points from the last three group stage games, Spalletti’s men are at the second spot on the group table.
FC Rostov lost 3-1 against the St. Petersburg club. Filatov admitted that the Selmashi were outplayed by the Bomzhi in the league meeting.
Speaking on the defeat against Zenit, he said: “We made many mistakes in the defence, we were sloppy in attack. In general, it seemed that the players do not have enough understanding among each other.”

Rostov are currently at the tenth spot on the league table. The former FC Unirea Voluntari Urziceni defender went on to highlight that the Sibiryaki are in a relegation battle and they will try to get out of the drop zone.
Filatov warned his teammates to focus on the upcoming tie as the Asians are going to give them a tough time in order to claim much needed points.
