The Gabonese international has signed a short term deal with FC Sochaux-Montbeliard, following the recent injury to their second choice goalkeeper who suffered an injury.
The signing took place following the injury to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Ovono-c11053. The Gabonese international
underwent a trial before signing a contract with the Ligue 1 side.
Ovono has signed a short term deal that will see him with the Ligue 1 side for a span of year. The player was happy after signing the deal and hoped that he could meet the expectations.
He achieved recognition while playing for Georgian club, Dinamo Tbilisi, with whom he won the Umaglesi Liga. He also played as a starter in the 2012 African Cup of Nations where the Gabonese team attained recognition at international level following their
victories against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tunisia-c3025.
After his time in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Georgia-c2903, he joined French club, Le Mans FC, in 2009 and stayed with the side for a span of three years. But since seeing out his contract last season, the Gabonese international had been a free agent.
Sochaux are currently at 18th position with only 11 points from 12 games played. They have conceded a total of 19 goals so far, which has resulted in a major disaster for the Ligue 1 side.
With the addition of Ovono, the team can have a good quality goalkeeper in reserve who can step up to the challenges when required. Ovono's international experience can definitely come in handy for the club, who already have enough defensive problems to
deal with at the moment. Moreover, the club didn't have to pay any transfer fee for the player as he was already a free agent.
The former Le Mans goalkeeper would be required to fill up the position as the first choice goalkeeper if required, during his time with the Montbeliard-based club. And with that being said the Gabonese has already been included in the squad that's set to
travel to Ajaccio for their next Ligue 1 encounter this weekend.
