Article continued from Part 1 of FC Twente, Ajax Amsterdam and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven – Who will win the Dutch Eredivisie title
De Joden have secured 67 points from their 32 fixtures so far this season. If the outfit from Amsterdam bags all three points in both of their matches, they will end up securing 73 points at the end of the season and certainly lift the Eredivisie title.
If De Joden wins their upcoming match against the outfit from Heerenveen and their fixture against the Reds ends in a draw, the Amsterdam outfit will secure 71 points and possibly end up third in the league table.
It means that Boer’s men have to win both of their remaining encounters if they seek to emerge as the Dutch champions at the end of the season.
PSV Eindhoven
After dominating throughout the season, the Boeren would be utterly disappointed with their current position in the table. Moreover, their chances to lift the Eredivisie title look far-fetched unless the Reds and De Joden lose points in their upcoming fixtures
that are very unlikely to come.
PSV are currently placed third in the league table, trailing the league leaders Twente by three points and second placed Ajax by two points. With six points left to grab in the season, there is not much hope in Eindhoven to see their beloved team become
Dutch champions.
Fred Rutten, PSV’s manager, is confident that his side will certainly play in the UEFA Champions League next season if they manage to win both their remaining encounters of the season. However, Rutten admitted that if fate favours them in the remaining weeks
of the season, then they could eventually lift the Eredivisie title.
Rutten’s troops will play their upcoming fixture against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Groningen-c39119 at the Euroborg Stadion.
PSV have acquired 65 points from 32 encounters so far this season. If the Boeren manage to win both of their remaining encounters and the other two title contenders lose one of their remaining fixtures, then the Boeren will win the league title with acquiring
71 points.
If Rutten’s men bag all three points in front of their home crowd and manage to end the match in a draw against the Green-White-Army, they will be acquiring 69 points and probably finish third in the league table.
It seems like that the Boeren have the least chance to emerge as the Dutch titleholder and despite placing second in the league table, Ajax have more probabilities to win the title. However, anything can happen in the remaining weeks before the end of 2010-11
Eredivisie campaign.
Many would argue that the Dutch top tier has yet to reach the highest level where the Eredivisie outfits could compete with top European Leagues’ sides. However, many should admit that Eredivisie has become one of the most competitive leagues in Europe.
After 2009-10 season finished in an exciting manner and the Tukkers emerged as Dutch champions at the last minute of the season, this year it will prove to be yet another thrilling finish to the season as the title winners would probably be decided on the
final day of the season.
