FC Twente 4-1 Wisla Krakow: Co Adriaanse pleased with the win – UEFA Europa League news
In the second round of UEFA Europa League, FC Twente Enschede cruised to a comfortable 4-1 victory against Wisla Krakow at De Grolsch Veste on Thursday, September 29.
Co Adriaanse, the Tukkers manager, was pleased with his troops’ performance in front of their home crowd against the Polish outfit.
Although the Tukkers started the match brightly, the visitors scored the opening goal of the evening within the opening 10 minutes of play. Dudu Biton’s powered shot from 20 yards out found the top left corner of the net, leaving http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikolay-Mihaylov-c28019 helpless
between the sticks.
After conceding the opening goal, the home side pushed hard to find an equalizer, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emir-Bajrami-c12511 trying their luck to keep the visitors’ goalkeeper on his toes.
The consistent pressure finally paid off in the 32nd minute, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luuk-de-Jong-c22956 headed Ola John’s free-kick to level the score-line.
Moments later, the White Star had the chance to regain the lead but Biton failed to find the back of the net. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marc-Janko-c23484 saved Biton the blushes when he found the bottom left corner in the first half stoppage time, after John’s cross inside the
box found him.
Wisla made a good start to the second half and almost scored an equaliser. However, Mihaylov made a good save to deny http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Iliev-c17395.
The hosts slowly took control of the proceedings and doubled their lead on the 57th minute mark through Janko.

The third goal killed any hopes of a comeback for the visitors, who never really managed to threaten the Enschede giants. Ten minutes before the full time whistle, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Rosales-c31362 pass
inside the box found him.
Adriaanse was extremely delighted after his side hammering win. The Dutch tactician revealed that his troops staged an exciting brand of football in front of their home crowd.
“Not only have we scored four times, we also had many opportunities. It looked just fine. In the opening four minutes, we have had three hundred percent goal scoring opportunities. Too bad that we were still lagging behind then. That was a mental setback,
which we also handled impressively”, Adriaanse said while talking to the media.
