Reports from De Grolsch Veste confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leroy-Fer-c22126’s services. A bid worth 4 million Euros is reported to have been put forth. The 21-year-old has been on the Tukkers’ wish list since the
2010/11 campaign concluded.
The outfit from Enschede had earlier tabled two bids to acquire the midfielder’s signature, but failed to reach an agreement with the Rotterdam giants in the ongoing summer transfer market.
Fer made his professional debut at De Kuip Stadion in December 2010 after spending his childhood days at the Stadiumclub’s youth academy. The young midfielder has so far represented his parent club in 100 matches and managed to add his name to the scoresheet
on 13 occasions. The Dutch International’s current contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 runs until the summer of 2012.
Martin van Geel, the Rotterdam giants technical director, had stated earlier this summer that his side would not sell their prized asset. However, following the Tukkers latest offer, the club could well cash in on the midfielder.
Van Geel revealed that his side will not make a hasty decision in letting their starlet go and will discuss every possibility with the supervisory board.
“I don't have the final say in this. The direction will discuss the situation with the supervisory board and they will decide on whether to sell or not. I'm just an advisor on this matter”, Van Geel said while talking to the media.
The 21-year-old’s agent, Rob Jansen, revealed that his client is currently considering his future and admitted that his client is looking for a move away from De Kuip Stadion.
“We will discuss what can be done in this situation. I don’t want to say anything about it yet. Leroy has clearly indicated that he wants to play anywhere else than at Feyenoord. In my opinion he would still love to join the Tukkers”, Jansen was quoted as
saying while talking to the Dutch media.
The Rotterdam giants should now consider selling Fer to the Tukkers rather than letting him go as a free agent next summer.
