The former Wigan Athletic midfielder has expressed his frustration after his injury was not properly assessed, underwent three MRI scans before a tear in his calf muscle was observed.

The 35-year-old had to leave the pitch in his side’s 3-2 loss at the hands of Feyenoord Rotterdam at De Kuip Stadion on December 18, 2011. Earlier reports indicated that the veteran midfielder will be able to return to action in couple of weeks.
However, the cause of injury remained unknown and only the third MRI scan unveiled a tear in his calf, that has kept him sidelined for the past three months.
Landzaat expressed his frustration at the Tukkers’ medical staff and revealed that the injury was not properly assessed.
“The injury was not properly assessed. That is frustrating. Should they have assessed it properly earlier, I would have returned to action within three weeks. I continued training that further deteriorated the injury. A tear in my calf was observed after
I underwent the third MRI scan”, the 35-year-old was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The former Dutch International is yet to play under the leadership of Steve McClaren,  and he is keen to show his abilities to the new trainer, who took over the managerial hot seat at De Grolsch Veste from Co Adriaanse earlier this year.
“I want to show the trainer what I can do. My team is competing for the Eredivisie title and I am eager to help my side in becoming champions”, Landzaat concluded.
The 35-year-old joined the Tukkers in the summer of 2010 after making 38 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam. The defensive midfielder has thus far represented the Enschede giants in 41 matches, netting two goals while setting up four more.
The former Wigan Athletic midfielder has an ongoing contract at De Grolsch Veste that runs until the summer of 2012. However, reports indicate that the club management is looking to offer the veteran a contract extension in the coming days.
