The newly appointed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede head coach, Steve McClaren, has revealed that he has been taking risks since he started his managerial career in the summer of 2001.
The 50-year-old tactician took over the managerial hot seat at De Grolsch Veste earlier this month after the club management parted ways with Co Adriaanse. The Englishman has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Tukkers.
The former England boss was previously in charge of the club for two seasons, and mananged to guide the Tukkers to their first ever Eredivisie title at the end of the 2009/10 season.
However, the vastly experienced tactician has struggled to achieve success while managing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 and Nottingham Forest since leaving the Tukkers in the summer of 2010.
McClaren knows that he has taken a risk returning to De Grolsch Veste, but has asserted that he has never taken an easy job.
“What I have tended to do is take risks. I took a risk with the England job and it was a risk coming to Holland, it was a risk going to Wolfsburg and then going back to the Championship in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. My development has always been a bit different, with different
challenges, from being a coach at Manchester United to England and then moving abroad”, McClaren said while talking to the media.
The 50-year-old then went on to reveal that the Tukkers are in very much the same position when he left and asserted that his ambitions are also similar.
“The challenge is the same as it was when I left. The club is growing and developing. We won the championship, and the ambition was to play in the Champions League. We achieved that”, McClaren concluded.
Occupying the third spot on the league table, the Tukkers are only five points behind the league leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar. McClaren knows that he faces a stern test ahead in the second half of the season, but he has expressed optimism that his side could become
Dutch champions.
